“The Church Planting Center @ Sojourn (CPC) seeks to see the gospel transform everything by facilitating the training and sending out of church planters in North America and to the ends of the earth.”
We believe that it is the local church’s role to send out missionaries. In the New Testament we see local churches affirming and sending missionaries. Acts 13:2-3 reads:
“While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’ Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off.“
Although mission agencies and boards are helpful instruments that churches can utilize, it is the role of the local church to affirm and send out its missionaries. Because of this understanding, we take seriously our responsibility to train and send out Sojourners to the ends of the earth.
